Nicole Smith began working from home over 14 years ago, and since then has gained a wealth of knowledge that she would love to use to help other companies that are trying to grow their business and brand.
Her work-from-home career started with transcribing for Democracy Now in order to get her foot in the door. She learned a lot about transcription while there and went on to transcribe for Cambridge Studios, Ubiqus, and Rev.com.
Following the birth of her son, she began working for Mahalo.com as a part-time guide but quickly moved up to full-time guide/mentor/blogger, etc. It was while at Mahalo, she learned about SEO (search engine optimization).
Due to the knowledge, she gained while working at Mahalo, she went on to form her own website FrugalMaine.com and self-published two short stories. She also wrote for sites like Demand Media, Break Studios, Examiner, KidGalore, The Superficial Gallery, Ranker, as well as numerous private clients.
While running FrugalMaine, she had the chance to partner with many well-known brands, including Walmart, SC Johnson, General Mills, and more. (Complete list below.)
Another company that Nicole worked with that taught her a lot about social media marketing and interacting with people online is MySpace. She was their Reality TV Curator, and she had to grow the page from scratch and ended up with over a million followers from all over the world.
Following her time at MySpace, she went on to create a HACCP-based (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) program for a pizza dough production company. She also created the companies Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintained their MSDS files. Her responsibilities also included helping with payroll, data entry, answering emails and phones, and interacting with customers.
Currently, Nicole writes for Content Ninjas as a copywriter. Subjects she has written about while there include CBD, gardening, solar panels, health and beauty subjects, pets, divorce and parenting issues, and more.
